FAQ

  • How long does it take to complete the course?

    You can work through the course at your own pace, and come and go as many times as you need. How long it takes to practice your new skills and become proficient in them is different for everyone. Most instructors finish the training in four weeks, while some take a little longer to master the moves and musicality of freestyle aerobics.

  • Do I get any downloads with my enrollment?

    Yes! We want to equip you with all the basic tools you'll need to start putting together older adults classes straight away, so we've included handouts and downloads that will help you do this.

  • Is there an assessment on the theory?

    To receive your certificate you will need to successfully pass a multiple choice quiz. We want to make sure you understand the important concepts and information in the course, like things to be mindful when working with older adults.

  • What about the practical assessment?

    This is a foundational course, and a practical course, so we want to make sure you've got an understanding of the musicality required to teach a great class, as well as good technique and the different types of exercises you can include in standing and seated workouts for older adults. We teach you how to put together a class, and teach that class, so there is an assessment on this and you will be required to either film yourself or do a live Zoom assessment, so we can see you putting everything you've learned into action.

  • What if I fail the assessments?

    Don't worry! You can take the quiz as many times as you need to, and Carol will work through the practical aspect with you, until you are proficient in the skills we are teaching. We guarantee that you will be able to complete the course and claim your certificate, if you keep practicing!

  • Is 'Older Adult Fitness Level 1' accredited?

    Yes! Accreditation points are currently available for PAA (3PDPs), AUSactive (14CECs), FITREC (30pts), NZ Reps (10CPDs).

  • If I sign up now can I do the course later?

    You sure can! Our Professional Members have ongoing access to all their course enrolments. If you're not yet a member, you have 12 months to work through the course. You can come back as many times you want to during that 12 months for a refresher or new ideas.
