Expand the Band: Mobility Exercises

Cost: AU$45 | Duration: 1.5 hours

Desperate for some new exercises? Bored with doing the same workouts every week? Let us help!

Grab your resistance band and we're going to give you 50 different band exercises that are designed for aged care residents and frail populations. Exercises will help to improve strength, flexibility, co-ordination, and cognition as they work left and right sides.

Designed for fitness instructors, allied health assistants, and activities co-ordinators. Let us do the work for you and give you the tools you need to plan your next class.

Our mobility band exercises are great for seniors and older adults who like their exercise a little slower, and enjoy a gentle seated chair workout that keeps things moving and can be adapted for people of any fitness level. We are all about our participants and residents involved and engaging in class, even if they aren't quite doing the exercises like you are!

The course includes 50 exercises that have the band stretching up and down and out to the side, to add lots of variety to your sessions.

Included in the course:
• Video demonstrations of every exercise with all the tips and technique to teach confidently
• Handouts that list every exercise, to help you build your own training program
• Example workouts so you can see how Carol puts together a mobility spoons class
• The benefits of mobility exercises, even for those with poor fitness levels
• Reasons why band exercises should be included regularly in your classes.

Band exercises can add lots of fun and variety to your aged care, seniors, community, and fitness classes as everyone can have a go. Get started now to get new ideas that you can put straight into practice!

The course is 100% online with no video submissions required - assessment is an online multiple choice quiz. You can stop and start the course as many times as you need to, and professional members have unlimited ongoing access to the course (non-members have 12 months access).

A Course Manual is available for electronic download to guide you through the course.
