Who is behind Third Age Fitness?
Trudi and Carol are a mother and daughter team that have dedicated their lives to see older adults as healthy and happy as they can be - age is no barrier to exercise, and there is always an alternative in sight! We encourage older adults to work as hard as they can, as best as they can, for as long as they can, as that’s all you can do! We are not affiliated with any fitness centres.

WORKOUTS

Why would I want to exercise at home?
There are so many benefits to exercising at home - it's comfortable, convenient, protected from germs, cheaper, and a more effective use of your time. Amongst other things! Find out more on the benefits of home exercise here.

Is it safe for me to exercise at home without supervision?
Your safety is our priority. Our programs are designed by instructors with extensive experience working with older adults. We provide detailed instructions and demonstrate proper technique to help you exercise safely and confidently. We also offer a variety of intensity levels and modifications within each workout, allowing you to tailor the exercises to your comfort level and progress at your own pace. While our programs prioritise safety, we recommend consulting your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen to ensure the exercises are suitable for your individual health needs.

What is the difference between your Agility Membership and Mobility Membership?
Agility workouts are designed for more active adults and feature higher intensity exercises that can be performed standing, seated, or on the floor. These sessions aim to enhance strength, cardiovascular fitness, balance, and coordination. If you're seeking gentler options, our Mobility workouts are ideal for you. They focus on low intensity seated exercises that promote joint mobility and build strength while having fun with Carol.

What classes are included in your Agility Membership?
We offer a wide variety of classes, all included in your membership! Our selection features standing cardio aerobics, seated workouts, floor exercises, balance routines, stretching sessions, and much more. No matter what you're in the mood for or what your fitness goals are, we have a workout that can help you achieve them! You can find out more about what is included on our TOTAL Agility Membership page.

What classes are included in your Mobility Membership?
Carol offers a delightful variety of seated workouts that are both enjoyable and engaging, incorporating items like balls, scarves, bands, and even wooden spoons! She includes unique exercises that challenge your mind as you move, ensuring that the experience is not only beneficial but also fun. To learn more about our mobility programs, visit our Mobility membership page.

I’ve got a bad shoulder/knee/hip/ankle/wrist - can I still do your workouts?
Absolutely! Carol and Trudi have extensive experience working with older adults and understand that not every movement feels the same as it once did. During our workouts, we frequently provide modifications for those who may be unable to perform certain exercises due to injuries or limitations. We always offer alternatives and strive to present as many options as possible throughout our sessions to ensure everyone can participate comfortably.

Who are the workouts designed for?
Our program is tailored for you - vibrant individuals aged 50 and beyond! Our expert instructors bring years, often decades, of specialised experience in working with older adults. We've crafted each class with your unique experiences, goals, abilities, and motivations in mind. Our diverse range of workouts is designed to challenge both your body and mind, helping you embrace life to its fullest. Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or looking to maintain an active lifestyle, our program is here to support and inspire you every step of the way.

How long do the workouts go for?
Most of our workouts are designed to be 30 minutes long, which includes a warm-up at the beginning and stretches at the end. We also offer a variety of 10-minute and 20-minute workouts focused on balance, stretching, and walking. If you’re just starting out, feel free to split our full workouts across two days or sessions—stop and start as needed! With plenty of options available, you can gradually build your stamina and fitness levels at your own pace.

I'm a beginner. Are there workouts suitable for me?
Absolutely! Our Agility Membership features a wide range of workouts designed to accommodate various difficulty levels, including plenty of beginner-friendly options. We understand that starting your fitness journey can be challenging, which is why we’ve created workouts that are accessible and enjoyable for everyone of all experiences. To easily identify our beginner workouts, look for our ‘Heart’ sessions. These workouts focus on building foundational strength and endurance while ensuring you feel confident and supported every step of the way. Whether you're looking to improve your fitness or simply stay active, you'll find the perfect starting point with us!

Do I need special exercise equipment?
Many of our workouts, including our standing cardio exercises, don’t require any equipment at all. However, to enhance strength, improve balance, and add variety to your routine, we also offer workouts that incorporate dumbbells, resistance bands, and exercise balls. Additionally, we have specific seated and floor workouts that utilise a chair and a mat. If you don’t already have these items, we encourage you to consider purchasing them, as they can be valuable tools for your home workouts.

Are there live classes available, or are all workouts pre-recorded?
All of the workouts within our memberships are pre-recorded so you can do whichever workout suits you best, whenever you want to do it. Throughout the year we run special events, such as the Seniors Festival, that includes live classes, and membership gives you free access to these!

I like face-to-face classes - it’s not the same doing it by myself.
We understand that part of the benefit of exercise is that it’s also a chance to connect with friends, and it can be hard to stay motivated at home. What can you do? Make a decision that you are going to exercise each day - don’t wait until you feel like it. Decide it, then do it. Remember that you are in charge of your own health - no-one can do it for you!

MEMBERSHIP

How do I start a new membership?
You can begin your new membership in a couple of easy steps. Follow our simple instructions to begin - select from Mobility Membership or Agility Membership

How do I pay for my membership?
Membership is paid up front by credit card. You can choose either a monthly or annual subscription, and both renew automatically. Invoices and receipts for health funds can be supplied upon request.

How do I update my credit card details?
When you get a new credit card or would like to change payment to a new credit card, you can update your details via My Account. Follow the instructions HERE.

What is the difference between monthly and annual membership?
You get the same access to all of our classes, and all the same benefits of membership, but if you buy an annual membership you get two months FREE each year, so you will save money in the long run.

Can I transfer my membership to a friend?
Membership is non-transferable. In order to treat everyone equally, we can’t make any exceptions with this rule.

Can I cancel my membership?
You can cancel your membership at any time, either via your account on our website (click HERE for instructions), or by sending us an email on our Contact page. We do not offer refunds or credits for partial weeks or months of service, and don’t offer refunds for months unused. In order to treat everyone equally, exceptions will only be made in exceptional circumstances.

I’ve got an injury/going in for an operation and I can’t exercise - can I suspend my membership?
We believe it’s important to keep exercising as a part of your preparation before an operation, and as a part of your recovery afterwards. Because we have such a range of workouts that cater for any limitation, we believe we can still offer you workouts you can participate in, and that will help aid your recovery, both physically and mentally. Consequently we do not offer membership suspension or a refund for cancellations. In order to treat everyone equally, exceptions will only be made in exceptional circumstances. If you have a query about how you can best exercise during recovery, talk to your doctor, or get in touch with us.

Are there any hidden costs beyond the subscription fee?
No. We have one subscription fee that includes all of your online workouts, and there are no credit card fees, joining fees, annual fees, or review fees. There are no premium features or upgrades that require additional fees either, that you may unknowingly subscribe to.

Are there discounts available for seniors?
All of our programs are designed specifically for older adults and seniors, and this tailored design includes our pricing. We work very hard to keep our prices as low as possible to give as many people as possible access to our home workouts. We have partnerships with organisations that choose to offer specials to their members, but we do not control these discounts.

Are there discounts available for Seniors Card holders?
Yes! Visit us on the Seniors Online website for more information on discounts and specials available to Seniors Card holders.
